Comfort has conducted extensive research and development to fine-tune the Elite range of office chairs, thus launching the second generation. This range features the Ergohuman Elite G2, Enjoy Elite G2, and Mirus Elite G2: three remastered ergonomic office chairs.

The evolution of the comfortable office chair

The original line of Elite chairs was ergonomically incredible. It altered the world of task seating by providing a solution that delivered comfort, productivity, and style. However, throughout the years, we identified areas for improvement based on user feedback, ergonomic research, and workplace trends.

That’s where the Generation 2 collection was born. With fundamental design changes and enhancements aimed at maximising comfort and support, the Ergohuman office chair is more than a seat. It combines ultimate comfort, dynamic movement, and exceptional build quality. What is the difference between Ergohuman G1 and G2?

Comfort has made subtle but significant changes to the Ergohuman Elite G2. From aesthetic refinements, including a sleek mechanism and polished aluminium headrest support bar, to mesh changes and design upgrades, the Ergohuman G2 is vastly improved.

The upgraded mesh is a considerable change. The Ergohuman previously featured KMD mesh, but it now boasts our anti-pilling T168 mesh for better durability. The new mesh ensures the right level of stretch for evenly distributed support across 10  zones: six in the backrest and four in the seat. T168 mesh involves a higher yarn count with improved weave for supportive tension and elasticity. This prevents sagging while ensuring a more comfortable experience along the entire chair.

Another significant improvement is the comfort of the backrest. The lumbar support now features adjustable tension, so users can fine tune it to suit their weight and preferences. The upper backrest also features two new height options, totalling six height adjustment settings. Additionally, the headrest is more functional in all positions and has been moved slightly forward for enhanced comfort, aligning it better with the upper backrest.

The generation two Elite chairs also feature a new forward tilt function, allowing the user to tilt the front edge of the seat downwards while keeping the backrest upright. This feature lets the user adjust their posture by tilting their pelvis slightly forward. The tilt function promotes a more active sitting position to reduce pressure on the lower back and thighs, which is ideal for tasks that require leaning forward, including drawing, writing, and intense computer work.

The chair now features 5D armrests with adjustable width, tilt, and more generous pivot adjustments. These armrests provide better support for handheld devices, typing, and reading.

Lastly, the seat comfort has been refined. The four individual zones on the seat ensure a comfortable experience for up to 24 hours, depending on your model. With a sleeker, more contoured design, the seat frame is now engineered to reduce pressure on the back of the legs so users can experience better weight distribution, which alleviates discomfort.
